Spider Monkey

The boys have gotten back into puzzles. Which I love. The best part is Gav and James are getting more to the point where they can do it themselves. Hallelujah! One of the puzzles we have is of baby animals, and one of those animals is a spider monkey. While Gavin and Jack were taking a bath, James was doing this puzzle. Here's our conversation-

JP- What do spider monkeys eat?
(the boys love to talk about what animals eat)
Me- Oh you know... bugs, bananas, other fruit. Just like other monkeys
JP- Oh. How do they get around? Do they shoot webs out of their hands?
Me-... What?
JP- Do they shoot webs out of their hands?
Me- *laaaaaugh* No, no, they don't shoot webs out of their hands. But that would make sense, because of their name, huh!
JP- *smiles and giggles because he made me laugh*

I mean, it makes sense! But alas, the spider monkey is not like Spider-Man (or a spider from which their names derive). Some silly scientist named it a spider monkey because it's small (and their exceptionally long limbs, which i just read. learn something new everyday). Heaven forbid they just call it 'petite monkey' or something along those lines. But it's not as interesting and will continue to confuse little boys who hope the monkey is like one of their favorite super-heroes.
